To attract outstanding Malaysian students to study at the university, Shih Hsin University has established three scholarships: the "Top Student Scholarship," the "Outstanding Student Scholarship," and the "Student Financial Aid." Below are the details of each scholarship:

 

  1. Top Student Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to attract Malaysian students who excel in audiovisual works, sports, extracurricular activities, or have other special talents to study at Shih Hsin University. The main eligibility criteria are as follows:

 

  • Conditions: Open to both new and current students. Applicants must be Malaysian nationals and be admitted through foreign student channels or other specific admission routes.

 

  • For New Students: NT$600,000 in total:

Top Performers (3 students): Each will receive a tuition fee reduction of NT$50,000 per semester, totaling NT$100,000 for the academic year.

Outstanding Performers (5 students): Each will receive a tuition fee reduction of NT$30,000 per semester, totaling NT$60,000 for the academic year.

  • For Second-Year and Above Students: NT$400,000 in total:

Each student will receive a tuition fee reduction of NT$40,000 per semester, with 10 available slots.

 

  1. Outstanding Student Scholarship

This scholarship aims to encourage Malaysian students to achieve excellent academic results and reward those who excel both academically and in other areas. The main eligibility criteria are as follows:

 

  • Conditions: Only available to Malaysian students who have completed at least one semester at the university. Applicants must not have any disciplinary records and must have an average grade of 80 or above in the previous semester.
  • Scholarship Amount: NT$20,000 per semester, with the number of recipients based on the annual budget.

Application Period: Applications are accepted in October and March each academic year.

 

  1. Student Financial Aid

This financial aid is designed to assist Malaysian students facing economic or cultural difficulties, primarily providing subsidies for living and housing expenses. The specific conditions are as follows:

 

  • Conditions: Only available to Malaysian first-year undergraduate students who are facing economic or cultural disadvantages.
  • Living Subsidy: Provides 4.5 months of living expenses, which is equivalent to the total tuition fees (excluding student insurance fees).
  • Housing Fee Reduction: A reduction of NT$20,000 in housing fees for students living in on-campus dormitories.
  • Requirement: Recipients of the financial aid must participate in student activity services for no more than 8 hours per week, totaling 96 hours of service per semester.
